BRENT RIDGE - NAC CLASSES 03.09.15

Hello All

Last week we brought our individual directions and I want to encourage your discovery and journey in painting.  We spoke about the need for sketching to develop space in a painting.  Now I want to introduce a painter who brings energy and spontaneous mark-making:

Jacqueline Humphries
She uses big gestures, layers, and contrasting kinds of marks or shapes to create compositions.  You could accomplish some big marks of paint with brushes or other types of tools like sponges, a paint roller, or even a squeegee (the hardware store has lots of inspirational tools).  She also uses tape to mask out lines and I will demo some use of these styles of tools in class.  In the meantime feast your eyes on her work below.
