BRENT RIDGE - NAC CLASSES 03.01.16

Hello All

After addding and adding paint last week – we'll do a bit of subtracting this week.

Thin paint can make soft shapes and if pushed to be soft everywhere can challenge us just as much as adding more paint than we're comfortable with.  So this week we'll look to Helen Frankenthaler and contemporary painters using soft, thin color in their paintings.

Take a look at this collect of SOFT PAINTING and be inspired and challenged to work this way.

Helen Frankenthaler

Jean-Baptiste Bernadette

Jacqueline Humphries

Victoria Morton

Jackie Soccoccio

Bring a kitchen sponge and a large flat edged tool --- oh yeah, paint and canvas too.
(canvas will allow paint to spread out and soak into the material)
See you next week.
