BRENT RIDGE - NAC CLASSES 02.23.16

Hello All,

After our break, we'll move into new territory by employing strategies of overpainting and layers meant to lead to thick surfaces of paint.  Under this pretense, you will want to use a surface that can support such workings such as canvas and board (not paper).  You can use paper to sketch out ideas and support your final work.  This is inspired by Frank Auerbach's style of painting and would start from landscape or figure to form shapes, but his interest is really in the color, shape and movement of the paint; as is the abstract painter working in a non-objective manner.

Bring lot's of paint, something stiff to paint on, and an image to inspire (or some of our figure sketches and collages from earlier).  Oh, and bring your energy!
